As part of the Government's effort to make education accessible, the Municipal Chief Executive officer, Hon. Paul Osae Offei, on the 9th July, 2025, commissioned a 2 unit K.G classroom block consisting of a head masters office, staff common room, 2 classrooms and 5 washrooms at Nkumkrom- Aburi.
In her opening remarks, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Lydia Akueteh, extended a warm welcome to the attendees and announced to the gathering that the school building is being commissioned and opened for use by potential students. This, she added, will curb walking long distance to neighboring towns for schooling.
The Municipal Education Director, Ms. Elizabeth Afriyie appreciated the Assembly for commissioning the school project. She remarked that, the community would now have access to the facility since its completion years ago.
She urged parents to ensure that, their children attend the school to acquire knowledge, adding that, new teachers would be posted to the school and the government would provide necessary needs of the facility.
She pleaded with the members to provide accommodation for teachers, within the community so they report on time and stay, for quality education delivery.
Addressing the attendees, the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Paul Osae Offei, stated that, the school building which was a middle belt development project, faced setbacks hence the delay in its commissioning.
He announced that the government has directed all MMDA's to allocate 5 percent of the common fund to complete all abandoned projects, promising that deteriorated equipment within the facility, would be enhanced for use.
He pleaded with the community to adopt a culture of maintenance so that the government would provide more social amenities to the community.
Hon. Paul Osae Offei, also added that the Government has charged all MCE's to allocate one out of 5 percent of funds for the Assembly to construct two(2) CHPS compound and schools, during their tenure of office.
After inspection the MCE (Hon. Paul Osae Offei), stated that 10 boreholes are to be allocated within the Municipality by the assembly, and assured that one would be constructed in Nkumkrom which would be connected to the school by October.
The event witnessed the presence of key figures including the MCE, Heads of Departments from the Assembly, traditional leaders, Assembly members and community members.
